Best Way To Lose Belly Fat
For men, the problem of belly fat is reaching near-epidemic numbers. Most men approaching middle age are
afflicted and there seems to be no end to it. Those men who are conscious of the problem are actively seeking ways
to combat the malady. The current mission is simply looking for the best way to lose belly
fat.
Besides the natural tendency of the male body to develop belly fat, other factors add to the gravity of the
situation. Work, stress, lifestyle, social interactions and other facets of modern life are somehow to blame,
too.
A Tough Job
Belly fat is one type of fat that requires a lot of work to reduce. Losing the pot belly is a long and tough job
to do. Of course, it will all be worth it. The prize is not only about looking better and sexier; it is
also about improved health in the long run.
When trying to lose belly fat, it is wise to think that one is not just toning the midriff part of the body, but
the whole body itself. Getting to lose fat in only one particular body spot is not possible.
Stomach fat cannot be eliminated by crunches or sit-ups. Over time, what you will have is rock hard abs under a
thick layer of jiggly, squishy fat. Reducing the overall body fat will certainly reduce the belly fat as
well.
Junk Food
Throw out (or give away) all the junk food you have like chips and cookies, donuts, other sweets and
similar food. Some say you are what you eat. Don’t eat junk. If you have no junk food in the house, you will not
think about it and nothing to open the refrigerator door for. Soon, you will forget your bad eating habits.
Carbohydrates and Losing Belly Fat
Limit your carbs consumption of carbs to the good carbs. These are usually found in fresh fruits and vegetables.
Bad carbs are all over in white bread, pasta, cakes and other processed food, and should be avoided.
Good meals are a combination of protein, carbohydrates and vegetables. For a rough guide, the size of protein
should be as big as a deck of cards, the carbohydrates the size of the palm, and the major bulk of the meals should
come from vegetables.
Be aware of your food preparations. You may choose a healthy option (like vegetables and lean meats) but if you
fry them or dump butter on them, it becomes a bad food.
Best would be to broil or bake your vegetables and meats. Trim the fat first before you eat them. Drain any
oil from your meats. As much as possible, choose fresh or frozen vegetables, not canned.
Eat 6 to 8 small meals a day to make the body work. It boosts metabolism. This will also stabilize blood
sugar.
Don’t try to starve yourself. The body will react by going into a starvation mode. It will store fat, and it
will not burn fat no matter how strenuous or how long your exercise is.
Late Night Snacks
Late night snacks should also be avoided, because there is no more activity after. People going to sleep tired
will cause high sugar levels to buildup. Because there is no activity, excess sugar will then turn to fat.
Boozing
Decrease or totally avoid alcohol. Hard drinking causes accumulation of fat in the waist. The amount of calories
ingested might be small but all these will be accumulated later and stored as fat. Avoid drinking everyday. As much
as possible, try to limit yourself to one glass of wine (which is beneficial to the heart) or one bottle of beer
(fattening).
Exercise
Put down the beer and go to the gym. If you are on your own, get a trainer or some body building expert for you
to consult from. On extreme cases, get some books on weight loss, exercise, and belly fat. These will help guide
you at the start of your exercise program.
Belly fat is natural. Its main purpose is actually to protect the vital internal organs and is a built-in
function of the body to store a reserve of energy for lean times. Finding the best way to lose belly
fat is not easy, but it is not impossible.
